Sting Ray and more of our trip

Here you will find pictures of us pulling in the nets from fishing, checking out what we found in the water sample under the microscope, and viewing the sting ray that we caught.

A Lesson on Crabs

Here's a brief video about a crab from our marine biologist.

A Fishin' We Will Go

Today we went on a field trip to Galveston. Our first stop was the Seagull II Harbor Tour. We did some dolphin watching, practiced our knowledge of ornithology (bird-watching), found some baby jellyfish detected under the microscope, and did some fishing. Here is a video of some of our catch!

The "War"

A very brief look at the Revolutionary War between the British and Colonists.

The Entrance of King George

King George loves fanfare. He sent a trumpet player to play "Taps" for us, and they also gave cues as to when to fight with "Charge!" Here is a brief video of his entrance along with the British forces, which was soon interrupted by the beginning of the war - a little too early, which is where I come in to ask them to stop. :)

Rabelsburg Victory!

It was a fight of epic proportions - well in the mind of the 5th graders at least. They were determined to beat King George and the British and free us of his rule forever. Since he didn't like our Declaration of Independence, we had to earn it. Here is a picture of the victorious Rabelsburg colonists right after the battle concluded. We did had a little help from the French (the parents), whose help broke the 1-1 tie in the final minutes of the war. Long live Rabelsburg, Pennsylvania!
